I know how this must make some of you uncomfortable at times, but you must also realize that you will all be better people through this experience and it is you who can make a difference in your life and others. In all the years I have been working with Mrs. T, I never heard the story of the "German Aryan women." What courage...what a great memorial. Staywarm and keep writing. The German who helped save many Jewish lives is just one example. As young adults embarking on life this is a lesson to learn and keep in your hearts. What a great group (as always) you have this year. I can see how the DC trip was just a small appetizer for what is planned for the group this year.

Embrace every minute of it because it won't be long before you're asking to go back! Great job as always, NM! The purpose of history is to study and learn from our mistakes. How can the lessons of yesterday be applied to today because the same problems still exist. Remember to look for the beauty in these countries that you will see. Germany is filled with regular citizens just like our community.. so how did such an atrocious event occur there? It always strikes me just how subtle and regular this way of life was for the citizens of Germany from 1933-1945. How? Why? Why didn't someone stop it?Michelle Khimishmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07265918809030181421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1853315305145295325.post-37836367497248213102013-04-03T19:20:47.104-04:002013-04-03T19:20:47.104-04:00I'm so happy to see you've all arrived saf...I'm so happy to see you've all arrived safely and have had a good first couple of days! As I read the blog and look at the pictures, I'm reminded by my own trip and I really wish I could go back! Take advantage of having a journal with you...I still read mine a year later! Also, HI KILEY PEARL! I didn't know you were going on HST this year! (Weird that we know each other, right?) One different word of advice: as much as you take in the information and what you get to see on this trip, take in every new friendship and opportunity to meet these people who experience this with you. Be kind to each other, you will have a much better trip and make such good friends because of it! I became friends with someone on my trip from California, and even visited California this summer, which is how I met Kiley! So keep open minds throughout the trip in both understanding the information you learn, and even becoming friends with someone who you may have not known before. Your whole experience will be better because of it!!! Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10887838222816962189noreply@blogger.com
